Your incentive stack

Federal, state, and utility
stacked.

On a typical $30K install in Connecticut, the total incentive stack lands between $13,000 and $17,000. We file every form with you.

Federal ITC

30%

Tax credit, claimed in the year of install. Locked through 2032.

CT ESS battery rebate

Up to $7,500

One-time check from CT Green Bank, paid through your installer.

Net metering

Full retail

1:1 offset on what your panels send back to Eversource or UI.

CT property tax exemption

$300 – $700/yr

System value excluded from your assessment. Sales tax also exempt.

Financing

Pay how it makes sense for you.

Four ways to finance your install. Cash gets the highest lifetime savings; PPA gets you on the system at $0 down.

Cash

$0 financing, max savings

Pay upfront. You own the system day one, claim the full federal ITC, and keep every dollar of bill savings for 25+ years.

Best for: highest lifetime ROI

Loan

Most popular

5–25 yr terms

Secured or unsecured, $0 down available. You still own the system and claim the federal ITC. Most homeowners pick this.

Best for: own the system, spread the cost

PPA

$0 down · 620+ FICO

Third-party owns the system. You buy the power at a fixed rate typically below your utility from day one. Underwrites at 620 FICO — the floor most national installers will not touch.

Best for: $0 down with imperfect credit

PPL

Pre-paid 25-yr lease

Pay the lease upfront, lock in the rate for 25 years. Third-party handles all O&M; you skip ITC paperwork.

Best for: cash buyers who want hands-off O&M

What customers say

Trusted by homeowners
who value quality.

“Teamsun was the only crew that walked the roof, named the panel brand, and answered every question without checking with someone. Same lead tech came back a year later when I added a battery.”
Robert P. Homeowner · Glastonbury, CT
“Three of my neighbors had Teamsun, so I called them. The crew was on my street five days after I signed.”
David L. Homeowner · West Hartford, CT
“They knew the historic district secretary by first name. Saved us six weeks on permitting alone.”
The Hwang family Homeowners · Glastonbury, CT
“Same lead tech who installed it came back four years later to swap an inverter under warranty. No charge, no excuses.”
Sandra M. Homeowner · Worcester, MA
Residential solar FAQ

Questions homeowners ask before they sign.

How much does residential solar cost in CT, MA, or RI?

A typical 8 – 12 kW Teamsun system runs $25,000 – $40,000 before incentives. After the 30% federal ITC, state rebates, and net metering, most homeowners see effective costs 40 – 60% lower over the first five years.

How long from signed contract to a working system?

47 days on average. About 7 – 10 days for the site visit and design lock, 20 – 30 days for permitting and utility interconnection, 2 – 3 days on the roof, and 5 – 15 days for utility approval (PTO) once we close it out.

Do you use subcontractors?

No. Every Teamsun residential install is done by W-2 employees on our payroll. The crew lead who walks your roof at the site visit is the same crew lead who installs your system, and the same person who picks up the phone if you call about a service question in year five.

What panels do you install?

Tier 1 only — REC Group, Q CELLS, and Silfab as our default brands. The exact panel and inverter brand are named on every proposal. We do not swap brands at install without explicit re-approval.

Can I add a battery later?

Yes. We size your inverter and electrical panel to be battery-ready on every install, even if you defer the battery to a later date. We also retrofit batteries onto systems we did not install — most installers refuse this work.

What incentives can I claim?

The 30% federal ITC is locked through 2032. State and utility incentives include CT ESS battery rebates (up to $7,500), MA Connected Solutions, full retail net metering across all three states, plus CT property and sales tax exemptions on the system value. We file every form with you.

I have less-than-perfect credit. Can I still go solar?

Yes. Our PPA underwrites at 620 FICO — the floor most national installers will not touch. You pay $0 down and a fixed monthly rate that is typically below your current utility bill from day one.

My roof is older. Should I replace it first?

If your roof is over 12 years from end-of-life, we strongly recommend bundling. We re-roof and install solar on the same timeline — one crew, one contract, one warranty. See the solar + roofing service.

What happens if something breaks in year five or year ten?

You call our Bristol office at 203-903-4091 and a person picks up. Manufacturer warranties cover panels for 25 years, inverters for 10 – 25 years, and batteries for 10 – 15 years. We service systems we installed and ones we did not.

How accurate are your savings estimates?

We use Aurora to model production based on your real roof geometry, your real shade (from satellite imagery), and your real utility rate schedule. Estimates are conservative on purpose — most of our customers see equal or higher production than the proposal predicts.
