How Teamsun handles it

Filing every form, every time.

Most installers leave the paperwork to you. We do not. Every Teamsun project includes turn-key incentive paperwork as part of the install fee — never a separate line item.

We file every form

Federal ITC paperwork (Form 5695 cost basis), CT ESS enrollment, MA Connected Solutions registration, RI REG application, net metering tariff selection. You sign; we submit.

We model the stack first

Aurora produces a one-page summary on every quote that lays out federal + state + utility incentives in plain English. No surprise math at install.

Timing is part of the plan

Some programs run on enrollment caps and quarterly blocks. We know which programs are open this month and queue your project to land before each cutoff.

A person picks up later

When the utility mails you a Connected Solutions check three years from now, you can call our Bristol office and ask what it is for. A person picks up.

What customers say

Trusted by homeowners
who value quality.

“Teamsun was the only crew that walked the roof, named the panel brand, and answered every question without checking with someone. Same lead tech came back a year later when I added a battery.”
Robert P. Homeowner · Glastonbury, CT
“Three of my neighbors had Teamsun, so I called them. The crew was on my street five days after I signed.”
David L. Homeowner · West Hartford, CT
“They knew the historic district secretary by first name. Saved us six weeks on permitting alone.”
The Hwang family Homeowners · Glastonbury, CT
“Same lead tech who installed it came back four years later to swap an inverter under warranty. No charge, no excuses.”
Sandra M. Homeowner · Worcester, MA
Incentive FAQ

Questions homeowners ask about the money.

How much can I save in incentives total?

On a typical $30,000 Connecticut residential install, the combined incentive stack lands between $13,000 and $17,000 — roughly 40 – 60% of system cost. Massachusetts and Rhode Island land in similar ranges. We model your specific stack on every Aurora-based proposal.

Do I have to claim the federal ITC and state programs separately?

Yes — they are administered by different bodies. The federal ITC is filed with your annual tax return on Form 5695. State programs (CT ESS, MA Connected Solutions, RI REG) are administered by your utility or a state agency. Teamsun files the state and utility forms; your CPA files the federal one using the cost-basis paperwork we provide.

Can I claim the federal ITC if I lease or sign a PPA?

No. On a lease or PPA, the third-party owner of the system claims the federal ITC. You receive the benefit indirectly through a lower fixed rate per kWh. Cash and loan structures let you claim the ITC directly.

Are these programs guaranteed for the next 10 years?

The federal ITC is locked at 30% through 2032 by the Inflation Reduction Act. State and utility programs (CT ESS, MA Connected Solutions, RI REG) are subject to annual program-year caps and rate adjustments. Once you enroll, your terms typically lock for the program duration (5 – 20 years depending on the program).

Do I qualify for incentives if I install a battery only, no solar?

Yes for the federal ITC — under the Inflation Reduction Act, batteries 3 kWh or larger qualify for the 30% credit even without solar. CT ESS and MA Connected Solutions also accept battery-only enrollments. RI requires solar to participate in REG.

What if I already have solar and want to add a battery?

Most state battery incentives accept retrofitted batteries on existing solar systems — see our battery retrofit service. The federal ITC applies to the new battery cost. CT ESS and MA Connected Solutions enrollment paperwork is identical to a new install.

Does Teamsun give tax advice?

No. We provide the cost-basis documentation your CPA needs to claim the federal ITC and state credits, but we do not file Form 5695 for you. Always consult a tax professional for your specific situation.
